These vibrant hippos are a fair trade product handmade in Kenya. They are hand carved out of stone, sanded until smooth, and dyed. Then an artisan uses a knife to etch the patterns into each hippo.

My wee hippo arrived today

My sweet little hippo arrived in the mail today, and oh my goodness I'm so happy with him. He is lovely. Absolutely beautiful.
